Halcy "H.P." Weldon

Savannah - "H.P." Weldon, 80, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Memorial University Medical Center.

He was a native of Monroe, GA, but lived the majority of his life in Savannah. H.P. graduated from the University of Georgia, John Marshall School of Law and served in the U.S. Air Force. His professional career was spent with Savannah Gas & Light and Infrasource. Before moving to Savannah, while living in Brunswick, he was president of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the South East Gas Association, and a member of the Rotary Club. After moving to Savannah, he was a member of the Wilmington Island Golf Club, the Knights of Columbus, the founder of the Georgia-Florida Golf Classic, a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

H.P. will be kindly remembered as a legendary golfer, a passionate Georgia Bulldog fan and his complete and loving adoration of his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Judy Weldon, three daughters, Leah Gordon, Danella Crews, Haley Weldon; three sons, Van Weldon, Bruce Callahan, Brian Callahan; thirteen grandchildren and a host of life-long devoted friends.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with The Reverend Patrick O'Brien, Celebrant.

Burial: Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
